What is Life Coaching?
These days time is so precious we feel we cannot afford to waste
a moment. People come to coaching because they want their lives
to be different. Maybe they are looking for change or have an
important goal they would like to reach. Perhaps they want to be
more successful or more satisfied at work; they may want to
create more direction and balance in their lives or to get more
out of life – more simplicity, more peace of mind, more
pleasure. |

Sometimes it’s a case of more being less – less
stress, less financial pressure. In general people use Life
Coaching to achieve a better quality of life, more fulfilment, a
healthier balance or to employ new processes to accomplish their
life’s desire.
How does
Life Coaching work?
As a Professional Life Coach I act as a catalyst, partnering you
as you take steps to transform your life. I help you to bring out
your personal best, help you clarify where you are now, where you
want to be and how to get there. I’ll encourage you to
rejuvenate your life on your terms.
After an initial face to face session, we will keep in contact
via telephone and email on a weekly basis. I will set you tasks
and exercises, rejoice in your triumphs, support you through
difficult times and challenge and inspire you to achieve real
results.
Why
should I get a Life Coach?
Are you ready to take your life to the next level? Do you lack
the motivation to reach your goals? Maybe you become frustrated
at setbacks? Perhaps you want to make a specific life change and
need the courage to do so? Maybe you are dissatisfied with a
particular aspect of your life be it career, retirement,
relationships, financial security? Maybe you’d like less
stress in your life, more balance?
If so, maybe I can help you. I’m a professional Life Coach
and my goal is to help you achieve yours.
How can I use Life Coaching to change my
life?
Imagine a relationship where the total focus is on you, what you
want from life and how you can realise that. Coaching is a
relationship which constantly offers an extraordinary level of
support and encouragement. Imagine someone not only hearing what
you are saying, but listening to what is behind your words, who
listens to you without judgement. Imagine someone who will hold
you accountable and keep you moving forwards towards your dreams
and goals. Imagine a relationship with someone who is curious
about your dreams and aspirations. Imagine a relationship where
you can break free from those self limiting conversations
you’ve been having over the years, where those voices of
defeat and sabotage are recognised for what they are. It is like
having your own personal guide in your life journey, someone who
will help you find your way and stay on course
Is it done on a 1:1 basis or in a
group?
Life Coaching usually takes place on a 1:1 basis; the
relationship focuses on getting the results clients want. The
coaches job is to help the client articulate their dreams, wants,
needs and aspirations, help them clarify their tasks, purpose and
goals and help them achieve their desired outcome.
Where did Life Coaching come from?
Coaching isn’t new; it has been with us for as long as
people have had the desire to improve. Coaching originated with
the Greeks who had a few other good ideas like democracy, logic
and medicine.
The Greeks were interested in lots of things including sports,
and they invested heavily in working out how to make good
athletes into champions. They turned to experts in boosting
performance – these experts became known as coaches.
Coaching was a process that turned gifted natural athletes into
champions who won in the ancient Olympic Games. Today every
competitor in the modern Olympics surrounds themselves with
coaches.
The reason for coaching in sports is obvious; people who want to
become the best in the world need individualised attention from
professionals. It’s not enough to learn general principles
or to gather more information. Champions need people to show them
where they aren’t realising their full potential and to
guide them through the process of turning that potential into
performance gains.
What would be the duration of the
Coaching?
The Life Coaching relationship is usually contracted on the
basis of 6 months coaching. After this initial period the
contract is extended on a monthly basis by agreement with the
coach and client. One months notice is required for cessation of
the contract from either party.
